CALL FOR CHAPTERS (TO BE PUBLISHED BY PALGRAVE MACMILLAN)
We are preparing an edited volume titled "Intensive English Programs in Turkey: Policy, pedagogy and administration" to be published by Palgrave Macmillan. This comprehensive work aims to explore the multifaceted landscape of pre-sessional intensive English language education in Turkey, a country where a significant portion of undergraduate programs are delivered in English. As the demand for English Medium Instruction (EMI) continues to grow in over 200 universities across Turkey (3021 EMI programs out of 11863), this volume seeks to delve into the educational, administrative, and policy-driven aspects of implementing and enhancing Intensive English Programs (IEPs) in the Schools of Foreign Languages (SFL).
We invite contributions that address the following themes (but not limited to):
Historical development and current state of English language education in Turkey
Curriculum design and assessment practices in IEPs
Teacher training and professional development for IEP and EMI educators
Student support services and integration in IEPs
The role of technology in managing and enhancing IEPs
Challenges and opportunities in the administration of IEPs
Case studies and innovative practices in Turkish higher education
